This pattern was designed by Bob Boudreau, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, in or around 1998. Bob was looking to create a fly that was effective in both summer and fall salmon seasons. This fly has been effective on the Nova Scotia rivers it was tied for. Special instructions for forming the wing are provided in the instructions at the bottom.

Instructions:
The wing should not extend beyond the bend of the hook.
Take about a 1/4 inch wide hunk of the Flourescent Yellow SLF hank and cut it just a bit longer than the ultimate length of the wing. Then take a hunk of
Flourescent Lime Green SLF hank about half as wide as the yellow. Cut it slightly longer than 1/2 the length of the Yellow piece. Now get a piece of Dark Green SLF that is as wide as the Lime Green. Cut it slightly longer than 1/3 of the total wing length.
Now to blend the wing properly you need to do a little uncomplicated procedure. Take the Yellow SLF and lay it down on your tying desk. Assume you are looking down on the wing from the side. Next lay the Lime Green SLF above the yellow and ending about 1/2 the length of the wing. Do the same for the Dark Green but it should end at about the 1/3 point of the wing. Now take a small toothbrush, eyelash brushe etc. and holding the SLF materia,l by the ends to be tied down, blend the colors of the wing together. When you are done the colors will not look like they are stacked one on top of the other but rather blend from yellow to lime green to dark green.
You should also wet down the SLF before you tie it in as the wing.
