Klinkhammer Special
The above picture is one of the worst examples of a Klinkhammer. I will put up a better picture soon. Hans van Klinken is the original designer of this pattern. He tied this to catch a fish called the Grayling in Europe/Scandanavia. Although this fly is fished like a dry it is actually an imitation of an emerger nymph. One thing is for sure, it is one of the deadliest dry fly/emergers you can have in your box. This is one of many color variants. I have tied this one in the colors of the Blue Winged Olive. I also tie these in Adam's colors. I have seen many many color variations from other folks. These include Black body and black or brown hackle, Brown and Brown, Sulphur and Ginger, Cream and Brown, etc. Match yours up to the fly colors in your area.
